Diethanolamine is colorless to yellow transparent viscous liquid above its melting point 28℃ and a white solid below this temperature. Boiling point 269.1℃ and freezing point 28℃. It can be miscible with water and ethanol. The hydroxyl and amino group in DEA can react with acids into ester, amide and etc.

Usage:

Diethanolamine is used primarily in the production of intermediates for herbicides, and in personal care and gas treatment. It is also used for metal cutting, cooling and anti-rust in metal processing; as pH neutralizer and emulsifier in cosmetics industry, or grinding aids in cement processing or concrete early strength accelerator. Besides, it is also used in the electronic and ink industry.
