DEA is used for the production of Diethylaminoethanole, a product mainly used in water treatment as corrosion inhibitor; for the production of DEET, a very well known insect repellent. It has also applications in the production of rubber chemicals (e.g. tetraethyl thiuram disulphide), or in the production of hydroxylamine and various other chemicals and active pharma ingredients.
